Thankyou for visiting my site. I am retired having spent over 33 years working within the Criminal Justice System.  I am a member of the RSPB, BUTTERFLY CONSERVATION and DORSET WILDLIFE TRUST. A keen interest in the natural environment combined with digital photography has enabled me to capture some wonderful wildlife encounters. In Spring and Autumn I guide birders / photographers around some spectacular areas within the Alentejo, Portugal. My Flickr site contains my wildlife photography taken on my travels in Portugal. My photography, particularly macro butterfly images, have been used and published widely by the British Butterfly Conservation Society, Wildlife Trusts and the BBC. Images have been used in reports and illustrated in books and magazines. I do not charge wildlife organisations / charities for the use of my photography providing they are not used for profit.

I am based in Dorset on the South coast of England and possess excellent local knowledge of where to locate wildlife within Dorset and the New Forest National Park from spending many years in the field. In addition, as a keen self-taught wildlife photographer I am able to provide hints and tips to less experienced photographers.

Local wildlife / butterfly trips ( within Dorset and Hampshire ) are between £35-£50 per person depending on location and duration, normally 4-5 hours or all day, and are always subject to the weather. Local pick-up and drop-offs can be arranged. These trips are limited to a maximum of three persons and will suit persons who prefer to be guided in a smaller group. Transport will be provided by use of a 4x4 Land Rover.

These are all destinations I have personally visited and possess the local knowledge to act as a guide. I generally combine some destinations due to the distances travelled, and to maximise seeing as much wildlife as possible. I arrange suitable accommodation to suit individual clients needs from B&B to Hotels. The longer range trips are generally between 5-7 days.
